Nathan has worked as a photographer, retoucher and studio assistant in commercial and e-commerce studios for over six years. He has produced photography work for a range of product, fashion, still life and lifestyle briefs. Where he has recently created work for Next, the Watches of Switzerland Group, George at ASDA, Ideal Shopping Direct, the University of Derby, the Derwent WISE project and the Derby Rowing Club. These opportunities have allowed him to work with a range of lighting set-ups and camera equipment to generate e-commerce, model, and campaign imagery. He has experience collaborating with stylists, creative leads, other photographers and a range of clients to discuss creative briefs and offer solutions to achieve them. Additionally, he has a technical proficiency in Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge, Premier Pro and Capture One that has enabled him to tether capture the imagery on set and retouch the content in post-production, providing him with an insight into the digital and technical workflow involved in a shoot. This allows him to see a shoot from the initial concept through to the final output. His work has been displayed across various companies social media pages, websites, emails and printed in stores, while his imagery for Ideal Shopping Direct was published in their monthly magazine and broadcast on their TV shopping channel.

Prior to this, Nathan studied Commercial Photography at the University of Derby, where he created a number of projects using the lighting and DSLR cameras in their photographic studio. While he also had the opportunity to develop and print analogue film in the darkrooms, filmed short advertisements and produced complex composite images using Photoshop. These skills and experiences allowed him to gain a First Class degree and led to assisting on model, product and fashion shoots for multiple photographers. His final degree project was exhibited at the University of Derby’s Degree Show and at the Free Range Exhibition at the Old Truman Brewery in London in 2019.
